The Role

Our client is hiring a Staff Software Engineer (8+ years) to set the technical direction for its biller-workflow platform, the frontend and backend architecture multiple teams build on. You will lead a generational rebuild of the highest-traffic surfaces in its practice management product, shaping how hundreds of thousands of billers work with claims, appointments and payments every day.

What You Will Do

  • Set technical direction across teams: frontend/backend architecture, component conventions, API contracts and observability.
  • Lead the hardest cross-cutting problems: data-dense tables at scale, bulk operations over tens of thousands of records, and a unified claim activity timeline.
  • Embed AI where it removes real friction, such as claim comparison, submission-error reasoning and rule suggestions.
  • Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code review and mentorship.
  • Own production reliability and performance, including render and query performance and the claim-submission pipeline.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years building large-scale, full-stack applications, including setting technical direction across multiple teams
  • Deep TypeScript/React, Python and PostgreSQL expertise, including fixing React rendering bottlenecks in data-dense UIs
  • Org-wide frontend leadership, such as driving design system adoption
  • Experience leading multi-month, multi-team platform rebuilds or migrations
  • Strong API and data-layer design for filtering, grouping and pagination over large datasets
