Company: Confidential - Venture-backed AI holding company in engineering services
Location: New York, NY (SoHo office; travel Monday-Thursday 2-3 weeks a month during the first 100 days after each acquisition)
Compensation: $200,000 - $300,000 + 0.1% - 0.75% equity
Employment Type: Full-time
Visa Sponsorship: Visa transfers and new sponsorship (H-1B, TN)

A venture-backed AI holding company modernizing civil, structural and MEP engineering firms with applied AI.

The Role

Our client is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers (5-10 years) to embed directly inside the engineering firms it acquires, own the full arc from discovery to shipped software, and build the relationships that make AI adoption stick. This is a true FDE role with real agency to find problems, build the tools and drive outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Embed on-site at acquired engineering firms, earn staff trust and find the highest-leverage workflows to automate.
  • Own the full deployment lifecycle: discovery, build, ship, debug in production and iterate with real users.
  • Turn noisy user feedback into a clear opinion on what to build and what not to build.
  • Own the user relationship, run working sessions and grow scope independently.
  • Feed every on-site lesson back into the company's platform so wins compound across acquisitions.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of full-stack product engineering with customer-facing or forward-deployed work
  • Strong English fluency and the poise to earn trust with non-technical users
  • Willingness to travel Monday-Thursday, 2-3 weeks a month during the first 100 days after an acquisition
  • Proven product instincts: turning user pain into a build decision and shipping it without hand-holding
  • At least one strong signal: a recognizable seed-to-Series C startup or a top technical education
